PANTHERS CLIP RAPTORS, 70-36

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's basketball team remain unbeaten (5-0 Overall, 2-0 Skyline) by holding the Bard Raptors (2-5 Overall, 1-2 Skyline) to a 19.4 percent shooting from the field en route to a 70-36 topping in Skyline Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Stevenson Gymnasium.

Bard took an early 6-5 lead until senior Avery Josey (Staten Island, NY) sank a jumper with 11:19 remaining in the first-half to spark a 23-7 Old Westbury run to extend the lead to 28-13 halftime lead and were in command the rest of the night. A 16-5 run by the Panthers to start the second half pushed Old Westbury into a 44-18 lead that created a hole too big for the Raptors to fly out of.

Agard added eight rebounds, seven assists, six steals and four blocked shots in 33 minutes of action. Avery Josey poured in 14 points and junior Brittany Jones (Elmont, NY) used 13 points and 12 rebounds to post her third double-double of the season. Jones finished with five steals.

Bard was led by junior Latiqua Williams (Bay Shore, NY) and sophomore Angelica Glover (Union, NJ) scoring 15 and 10 points, respectively. Williams pulled-down a game-high 15 boards (nine offensive) to go with six steals, five assists and a pair of blocked shots. 19.4 percent shooting (12-of-62). Bard edged Old Westbury on backboards, 53-50, including a 26-19 advantage off the offensive glass. Old Westbury turned the ball over 23 times while forcing Bard into 35 giveaways. Old Westbury also finished with 15 assists and 15 steals.
