Old Westbury vs. Ramapo Boxscore

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team lost to Ramapo College, 5-0 in their home opener on Wednesday afternoon at Panther Park.  Junior goalkeeper Darian Bryan (Elmont, N.Y.) made seven saves in net.

The Panthers played an even game until the 5:31 mark when Ramapo's freshman Rob Santaniello (Oakland, N.Y.) put the Roadrunners on the board.  Ramapo would score again when junior Jeff Walsh (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) put one past junior William Montenegro (Brentwood, N.Y.) on a helper from sophomore Frank Vogas (Clifton, N.J.) in the 24th minute to end the half at 2-0.   

Old Westbury was unable to recover from the two goal deficit at the half.  Ramapo poured on three more goals in the second half as junior Giuseppe Trani (Wayne, N.J.) added a pair of scores in the 66th and 85th minute followed by Jaivon Palmer (  ) at the 87:37 mark off an assist by Trani to give the Roadrunners a commanding five goal cushion. 

The Panthers goalkeepers, Bryan and Montenegro, totaled nine saves in net.  The Panthers defense also pulled Ramapo offsides a total of three times despite their losing efforts.  Ramapo keeper senior Ian Tighe (Wyckoff, N.J.) registered his fourth shutout of the season, improving to 5-0-1.
