www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team fell victim to a first half goal as the fourth-seeded Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Raiders defeated the fifth-seeded Panthers 1-0 Wednesday evening in the First Round of the ECAC Metro/Upstate Championship Tournament at Alumni Field in Newark, New Jersey. The Panthers' season comes to an end with loss to the Scarlet Raiders. The loss drops Old Westbury to 14-10 overall. Rutgers-Newark improves t 12-8-1 and advance to face top-seeded Drew in Saturday's semifinal in Madison, New Jersey.
OW, which lost their second consecutive Skyline Conference Championship game was playing in its second consecutive ECAC Tournament.
In the 37th minute, Daniel Naranjo put home the game-winner off a cross by Tom King that Naranjo skittered past OW keeper
Darian Bryan, giving Rutgers-Newark a 1-0 lead. Rutgers-Newark's 1-0 halftime lead would never change.

Darian Bryan played his final game of his career, making 10 saves to keep OW in the game. Offensively, the Panthers were led by
Thomas Manz who had three shots. Overall, OW had 10 shots, two of which were on goal.
Victor Farfan has two shots and
Ugur Kahveci,
Diego Mercado,
Hansel Riddock,
Anthony Ippolito and
Michael Bayne each had one shot. Rutgers-Newark had 24 shots, 12 on goal. Scarlet Raider goalie Jonathan Frances picked up the two save shutout victory.
