OLD WESTBURY, NY (
www.oldwestburypanthers.com – The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's basketball team gave up a 23-point lead with 9:04 remaining in the first-half and committed 27 turnovers on their way to dropping a costly Skyline Conference battle with Purchase College on Saturday afternoon at the Clark Athletic Center. The setback moves Old Westbury to 11-9 on the season and 6-7 in conference action while Purchase improves to 10-11 and 7-8, respectively.

Krystina Agard (Rosedale, NY) found junior
Brittany Jones (Elmont, NY) on the fast break for a layup. Old Westbury extended their lead to 23 on a 21-8 run, capped off by an Agard jumper with 9:02 left in the half. Purchase head coach Steven Loscher called a quick time with 8:07 left. Whatever Loscher told his team, it worked wonders. Senior Jessie Domes (Glenwood, NY) scored five points in a 15-4 run that Purchase used to close out the half, cutting the deficit down to 12, 37-25.
The momentum carried into the second half for Purchase as Domes hit 5-of-8 from long distance and 8-of-8 from the stripe to score 25 of her 31 points in the second half. Purchase put together a 24-12 run to open the second half as senior Liila Mack (Monticello, NY) nailed a jumper with 13:10 remaining to knot the game at 49 all. Purchase didn't look back and stole a victory on the road by outscoring Old Westbury 27-17 over the final 13:10.
Krystina Agard helped spark Old Westbury in the second half. Agard scored 10 of her 17 points after half time and finished 6-of-11 from the field and 3-of-6 from beyond the arc to go with eight rebounds, seven assists, three blocked shots and three steals. Senior
Avery Josey (Staten Island, NY) netted her 17 points (season-high) on 8-of-18 shooting and pulled down eight rebounds. Junior
Brittany Jones (Elmont, NY) followed with her eighth double-double of the season, combining 12 points and 13 rebounds. Junior
Shannon Gilly reached double-digits in the rebound column for the sixth time over the last seven outings, finishing with 10 boards in addition to four swats (season-high). Senior
Carlie Moore (Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY) chipped in with eight points and canned a pair of treys.
Jessie Domes paced the visitors with a game-high 31 points on 6-of-12 shooting from downtown and went for 12 rebounds and three steals. Liila Mack registered 18 points, 12 rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals while freshman Imani Floyd (Ossining, NY) and sophomore Jasmine Davis (Freeport, NY) helped out with 10 points each. Floyd contributed nine rebounds (five offensive) and senior Shayla Diaz (Beacon, NY) handed out six assists.
Old Westbury outrebounded Purchase, 48-47, with five Panthers recording at least five rebounds in the game. Old Westbury connected on 5-of-6 from the line. Old Westbury committed 22 fouls that allowed Purchase to capitalize on 22 of the 27 opportunities they had from the stripe. Old Westbury gave up 27 turnovers to Purchase's 22. Old Westbury converted those miscues into 13 points (0 points in the second half) while Purchase managed 21 points off of turnovers.
