OLD WESTBURY, NY (
www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury softball team combined to allow just two runs and seven hits in 14 innings as the Panthers swept a doubleheader from the Baruch College Bearcats on Sunday afternoon at the Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex-Softball Field. Old Westbury (2-4) captured game-one by a 7-1 score before taking game-two by a 2-1 margin over Baruch (3-7).

Deborah Ciccarelli gave up a pair of hits in the first inning as Ashley Brandow singled up the middle to score Elizabeth Santos from third for Baruch's lone run of the game.
Serina Booth drew a leadoff walk and two batters later scored on a passed ball in the first inning to knot the game at 1-1.
Deborah Ciccarelli settled down after the shaky first inning and gave up just two hits the rest of the way while Old Westbury amassed six hits leading to six runs.
Jessica Spero hit a two-out single in the second inning to drive home
Nicole Mannino from second base for the eventual game winner. Old Westbury added two more runs in the third when
Serina Booth led off with a walk and scored three batters later on a wild pitch.

Samantha Siegler to cap off the third inning scoring. After leading off the fourth with a double to left center,
Sherrida Maxwell advanced to third on a passed ball and scored two batters later of a single by
Serina Booth to put Old Westbury up 5-1.

Alyssa Clancy then delivered an RBI single that scored
Jarelis Torres to close out the scoring.

Sherrida Maxwell registered the lone extra base hits. Baruch was led by Ashley Brandow's 2-for-3 performance in game one.
Deborah Ciccarelli (1-3) worked her second complete game of the season and gave up just four hits and two walks while striking out a season-high five batters. Nicola De Vine (0-1) took the loss for Baruch, going 4.0 innings and was charged with five runs (two unearned) on four hits and four walks with three strikeouts. Andrea Tepfer worked the 2.0 innings of relief, giving up two runs (one unearned) on two hits and totaled five strikeouts.
In game two, the Panthers and Bearcats were scoreless until the fourth inning when Old Westbury
Lauren Isaac led off with a single to left. Four batters later,
Alyssa Clancy helped her own cause with an RBI single to right field that scored Isaac to break the scoreless game. The very next batter,
Sherrida Maxwell, reached off an infield single to score

Alyssa Clancy cruised along until the seventh inning when a leadoff error followed by a double by Nicole Flint ended Clancy's bid for a shutout. The next two batters reached base but the freshman maintained her confidence, retiring the next two batters to earn her first win of her career.
Alyssa Clancy led Old Westbury's offense with two hits including and an RBI double. Nicole Flint clubbed two doubles in three at-bats and drove in the lone run for Baruch.
Alyssa Clancy (1-1) notched her second complete game outing in as many starts and surrendered just three hits and gave up one unearned run with a career 10 strikeouts. She registered nine strikeouts in her first start against NC Wesleyan. Lynn Schiano was pinned with the loss for Baruch after tossing 4.0 innings, giving up all two runs and four hits to drop to 0-3 on the season. Nicole Flint worked 2.0 innings of scoreless relief and retired three on strikes.
The Panthers will return to the field on Wednesday, March 24 for a non-conference battle with the Brooklyn College Bulldogs. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. at the Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex-Softball Field in Old Westbury, New York.
