OLD WESTBURY, NY (
www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury softball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon to the Hunter Hawks by the scores of 7-5 and 3-1 at the Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex in Old Westbury, New York. The losses drop Old Westbury to 6-10, while the wins improve Hunter to 10-4.
In game one, Hunter opened the scoring in the top of the first inning scoring one run on two hits off Old Westbury starter
Deborah Ciccarelli. Old Westbury responded with one run in the bottom of the inning as
Serina Booth scored from second off an error by Molly Meehan. Hunter then added six runs off six hits and two errors to take a 7-1 lead in the second inning. Old Westbury countered with three runs in the bottom of the second to cut the deficit to 7-4.
Nicole Petrucci belted a double to left center to score
Sherrida Maxwell and
Lauren Isaac, followed by an RBI single off the bat of #Alyssa Clancy to drive in
Serina Booth from third. Old Westbury tacked on another run in the sixth inning when #Kristina Giordano# singled home

Deborah Ciccarelli (4-7) pitched her eighth complete game of the season, allowing five earned runs off 11 hits and three walks, while striking out three. Hawk pitcher Lauren Stensland improved to 5-2 on the season with a four hit complete game outing. Stensland was charged with four earned runs and issued four walks.
Nicole Petrucci drove in two runs while
Serina Booth and
Lauren Isaac both scored two runs to lead the offense. Stephanie Alves, Molly Meehan and Christina Barker each collected a pair of hits and scored a run for Hunter.
In game two, Jacqueline Frank hit a single in the fourth inning to take away a perfect game from
Alyssa Clancy. Hunter posted the first two runs of the game in the fifth inning off three hits and two errors and added one more run in the sixth off two hits. Old Westbury got on the board in the sixth when
Deborah Ciccarelli stroked a single to right center to send
Alyssa Clancy home for the lone score of the game.
Alyssa Clancy (2-3) was pinned with the loss despite a solid outing, allowing two earned runs off six hits. Clancy fanned seven and walked just one in a six inning complete game. Stephanie Damroth improved to 5-2 on the season with a six inning complete game victory after she struck out five and allowed one run on three hits.

Deborah Ciccarelli each registered hits while Clancy's double was the lone extra base hit fo Old Westbury. Jacqueline Frank led Hunter with a double and went 2-for-3 at the plate.
The Panthers will return to the field on Thursday, April 8 for a non-conference affair with the United States Merchant Marine Academy. First pitch in game one of the doubleheader is slated for 4 p.m. in Kings Park, New York.
