FARMINGDALE, NY (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The No. 4 seed Old Westbury Panthers (22-17) eliminated the No. 3 seed Mount Saint Mary Blue Knights(14-20) 15-2 on Saturday evening at the Farmingdale State Baseball Complex. Old Westbury will now take on top-seeded Farmingdale State on Sunday at 12 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. (if necessary) in Farmingdale.

Old Westbury jumped out to an early one run lead in the first as Jason Kondra walked, advanced to second on a wild pitch and stole third and two batters later scored on a grounder by Giovanni Jimenez.

The Panthers added on a run in the second off Joe Manzella's single that scored Edwin Pena. Mount Saint Mary answered with one run in the second. John Conroy singled through the right side and advanced Max Tecce across the plate for the score.

Old Westbury grabbed a four run lead with three runs in the fifth. Giovanni Jimenez hit an RBI single up the middle and scored off a triple by Josef Schaetzle. Edwin Pena followed with a single through the right side that brought Schaetzle around to score.

The Panthers added three runs in the sixth, two more in the seventh and eighth innings and tacked on three more in the ninth to claim a 15-2 victory over Mount Saint Mary.

Jason Kondra and Bladimir Toribio each banged out four hits to pace Old Westbury's offensive assault on Mount Saint Mary. Kondra finished with three RBI and three runs scored and Toribio added scored two runs and drove in one. Melvin Simmons and Giovanni Jimenez both scored three runs and Josef Schaetzle added three hits, three RBI and two runs scored. Joe Manzella and Giovanni Jimenez both drove in two runs. Max Tecce and Louis Peisel both collected two hits apiece and score a run to lead the Blue Knight offense.

James Huber notched his fourth win of the season with a complete game outing. Huber surrendered two runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out five. Matthew Senzamici last 4.2 innings and took the loss after giving up five runs on seven hits and one walk.
