www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team battled Purchase for 110 minutes before settling for a 1-1 Skyline Conference tie in Purchase, New York Sunday afternoon. The tie moves Old Westbury (4-8-1) to 3-2-1 in conference action while sending Purchase's (6-2-2) record to 3-1-1.
Old Westbury got on the board first in the 32nd minute as
Tana Weekes drove the ball into the back of the net for an unassisted goal. Weekes' goal would send OW into the half with the lead.
Early in the second half, Purchase picked up the pace and began to put pressure on Old Westbury. Old Westbury was whistled for a penalty which set Purchase up for a penalty kick in the 48th minute. Blaise Bourgeois sent a laser past Old Westbury goalie
Pablo Diaz to even the game at 1-1. Both teams were held scoreless over the remaining 62 minutes and settled for a double overtime tie.
