www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's soccer team fell 6-0 to the Farmingdale State Rams in the semifinal round of the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament on the road Wednesday in Farmingdale, New York. The loss moves Old Westbury to 9-8-1 on the season and will await on a possible bid from the ECAC. Farmingdale State (14-3-3) advances to their fifth straight championship game.
Farmingdale State scored its first goal at the 6:03 mark when Nora Connolly finished off a pass from Christina Merrill for the early 1-0 lead. At the 23:46 mark, Katrina Cerverizzo scored off a corner and Merrill tacked on a goal at 25:33 to give Farmingdale State a commanding 3-0 lead at the half.
Farmingdale State added three second half goals in the 47th, 62nd and 64th minutes to cap the scoring.
The visiting Rams held advantages in shots (26-2), shots on target (14-1) and corner kicks (10-2).
Caitlin Thomas made a career-high eight saves in defeat for Old Westbury. Amanda Maass and Stacey Rao combined for the clean sheet for Farmingdale State.
