OLD WESTBURY, NY
(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) –The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team won their second consecutive game at home Monday afternoon, as they shutout the NYU-Poly Fighting Blue Jays, 1-0.  With the win, OW improved to 3-7 on the year and 2-1 in Skyline Conference action while NYU-Poly dropped to 2-6-2 and 2-1, respectively. 

In the 53rd minute the Panthers offensive efforts were rewarded as freshman Tana Weekes set up the goal, slotting a pass to junior Omer Brown, who tapped it past NYU-Poly goalkeeper Rishi Sarkar.  Brown's game-winning goal was his first score of the season and second of his career.

Junior Pablo Diaz made five stopped in goal for Old Westbury, posting his second shutout of the season and fourth career.  Rishi Sarkar made five saves in defeat for NYU-Poly.  NYU-Poly outshot Old Westbury 15-6.  Both teams landed five shots on target.  NYU-Poly also held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks. 

MOUNT SAINT MARY KNIGHTS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the pitch for a Skyline Conference showdown at home, taking on the Mount Saint Mary Knights on Saturday (Oct. 1) in Old Westbury, New York. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m. from Panther Park.
