www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) –The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 Skyline Conference setback at home to the St. Joseph's-L.I. Golden Eagles on Wednesday afternoon from Panther Park. The loss moves Old Westbury (7-9) to 4-3 in conference play while St. Joseph's-L.I. (10-6-3) improved to 4-2-1.
St. Joseph's-L.I.'s first goal came 29:28 into the match when Kathleen Borrelli sailed a cross up for Michelle Barclay to chip in past Old Westbury goalie
Caitlin Thomas. It was Borrelli's third goal of the season. The Golden Eagles added their insurance goal in the 85th minute when Bethany Bianco settled a rebound into the back of the net for her third goal of the season. Borrelli and Jamianne Eden were credited with the assist.
St. Joseph's-L.I. did outshoot Old Westbury 12-6, including 5-3 on target. Both teams took three corner kicks.
Stephanie Maybie led Old Westbury with five shots, including two on goal.
Caitlin Thomas made three save and allowed two goals for Old Westbury while Kayla Flowers was victorious with three saves.
PURCHASE PANTHERS UP NEXT FOR OLD WESTBURY: Old Westbury returns to the pitch for a Skyline Conference battle on Saturday afternoon, taking on the Purchase Panthers in Purchase, New York. Kick-off is slated for 12 p.m. from Purchase Soccer Field.
