Gameday Program
OLD WESTBURY, NY (
www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury junior goalkeeper
Marcelo Guardado made five saves and junior
Michael Bayne notched the game-winner as the Panthers shutout the Farmingdale State Rams 1-0 in a Skyline Conference men's soccer game played at Panther Park on a rainy Tuesday afternoon. The win improves Old Westbury (2-10) to 1-2 in conference play while sending Farmingdale State (5-6-1) to 3-1.
Bayne used his head to score the game's only goal in the 35th minute as
Andrew Moorman connected for his first assist of his career. Bayne's goal was his first this season (second career), and it's the second game-winner of his career.
Guardado would take over from there, denying every Farmingdale State shot sent his way.
In the end, Old Westbury held the edge in shots (18-14) while drawing even with Farmingdale State in shots on goal (8-8) and corner kicks (3-3). Guardado made five saves for Old Westbury as Angelo Vitteritti registered eight saves in defeat for Farmingdale State.
