RIVERDALE, NY (
www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) –The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's volleyball team dropped two matches Saturday at the Mount Saint Vincent Tri-Match from the Sharp Center. The Panthers fell 3-0 (19-25, 22-25, 21-25) to Farmingdale State before falling 3-0 (23-25, 16-25, 21-25) to the host Dolphins. Old Westbury moved to 7-17 on the season and 2-2 in Skyline Conference play.
Kimberly Catania turned in 14 assists, eight digs and six kill in 11 swings to hit .545 to pace the Panthers against Farmingdale State.
Jocelyn Small nailed down seven kills while
Fareeda Roushdy tallied three solo blocks and a block assist.
Allie Giancola and
Jennifer Jean both chipped in with 10 digs each. Farmingdale State was led by match-high performance turned in by Sarah Palladino (21 kills, 5 aces), Megan Pisciotta (32 assists) and Angela Kranz (16 digs).
Against Mount Saint Vincent,
Jocelyn Small had 10 kills and
Kimberly Catania went for a double-double, combining 21 assists and 16 digs.
Allie Giancola scooped up a team-high 21 digs. Ashleigh Scozzari and Morganne Booker paced the Dolphins with 15 and 14 kills, respectively. Zana Daluz dished out a match-high 32 assists to go along with 19 digs.
UNITED STATES MERCHANT MARINE ACADEMY UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the court against the United States Merchant Marine Academy Mariners on Wednesday (Oct. 10) in Old Westbury, New York. First-serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. from the Clark Athletic Center.
