Ithaca wasted no time in the opener to grab hold of the lead, posting two runs in the first. With two outs, Sydney Folk reached on an error by shortstop
Nicole Petrucci, allowing Molly O'Donnell to cross for the games initial run, followed by Carieanne D'Alessandro's run scoring single to give the Bombers a two run cushion. In the second inning,
Corrine Protasiewicz singled to tally Old Westbury's first hit of the game.
Alyssa Clancy followed by drawing a walk, only to be stranded when
Lauren Isaac lined into an inning ending double play. Old Westbury's starter
Deborah Ciccarelli's outing ended in the second inning. Ithaca scored 10 more runs on five hits and two errors off Ciccarelli before
Alyssa Clancy retired three batters to escape the frame. Old Westbury threatened in the third, with runners on first and third with one out, but Ithaca's Sam Bender got Petrucci to fly out and sat
