www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury softball team swept past the visiting Purchase Panthers with 10-0 and 8-0 run rule Skyline Conference victories Saturday afternoon from the Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex. Old Westbury (14-12) improves to 6-4 in conference play while dropping Purchase's (6-14) conference record to 0-8.
Jennifer Jean delivered the eventual game-winning single in the first to score
Nicole Petrucci to give Old Westbury an early 1-0 lead. Old Westbury broke the game open in the second inning with seven runs to grab an eight run advantage.
Nicole Petrucci stroked a run scoring single and two batters later
Samantha Siegler drove in two off a single to left field.
Alyssa Clancy followed with a 2-run homer. Two batters later,
Alex Heaney delivered a two-run double to close out the scoring in the second inning. Siegler and Jean added run scoring singles in the third to make it a 10-0 game.
Alyssa Clancy (8-6) posted her fourth shutout of the season, scattering three hits while striking out six. Lindsey Froman took the loss for Purchase, surrendering 10 runs (9 earned) off 10 hits and four walks.
Jennifer Jean led Old Westbury's offensive attack, going 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI's and one run scored.
Samantha Siegler added a 2-for-3 game with three RBI's and one run scored.
Alyssa Clancy (1-2, 2 RBI, R) and
Alex Heaney (1-3, 2 RBI) drove in two runs apiece while
Nicole Petrucci (1-2, RBI, 3 R) scored three runs.
In the finale, Old Westbury jumped on Purchase with a 5-run second inning to take command of the game early on.

Jennifer Jean and
Nicole Petrucci tallied back-to-back two-run doubles to close out the second inning scoring.
Alyssa Clancy retired the first 11 Purchase batters until Christine Leo's two-out single broke up her bid for a perfect game. Clancy finished with seven strikeouts, allowing one hit over five innings to improve to 9-6 on the season. Clancy combined with
Deborah Ciccarelli (1 IP, H) to notch Old Westbury's fifth shutout of the season. Christine Leo (0-4) was tagged with the loss after giving up eight runs (seven earned) off 12 hits and two walks in 5.2 innings.
Jennifer Jean (2-3, 3 RBI, R) and
Jessica Colucci (2-3) paced Old Westbury with multiple-hits. Old Westbury registered runs by eight different players. Christine Leo registered a team-best 2-for-3 performance at the plate for Purchase.
