OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury softball team split a Skyline Conference doubleheader on Senior Day Sunday against the visiting Farmingdale State Rams from the Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex.  Old Westbury took the opener, 2-1, before the Rams earned a 2-1 victory in the finale.  Old Westbury (15-13) now stands at 7-5 in conference play while Farmingdale State (21-9) moved to 9-3.  Sixth-year head coach Mary Jo  Fazio tallied her 100th career win with Old Westbury's game one victory.   

Farmingdale State struck first with a sacrifice fly by Michelle Mongiello that scored Kaitlin Keenan for the games initial run in the third inning.  Lauren Isaac slapped a grounder over to second base to drive home Samantha Siegler, knotting the game at 1-all.  Corrine Protasiewicz followed with Old Westbury's go-ahead single that scored Alyssa Clancy for the game-winning run. 

Alyssa Clancy (10-6) picked up Old Westbury's win after throwing her 12th complete game of the season, striking out four batters while allowing one run off six hits.  Clancy singled in the fourth to extend her hit-streak to seven games. 

Kaitlin Keenan (2-4, R), Hillary Genova (2-3) and Jennifer Jarczynski (2-3) produced multi-hit games to lead Farmingdale State.  Hope Zino (9-5) struck out eight batters and took the loss for Farmingdale State, serving up two runs off six hits and one walk in six innings of work.

In the finale, Farmingdale State jumped on the board early, plating two runs in the opening frame.  Rebecca Richman singled in Kaitlin Keenan for the one-run lead followed by Aubrey Walker's single that scored Hillary Genova for the eventual game-winning run.  Old Westbury cut the deficit in half with Samantha Siegler's run-scoring single in the sixth inning that scored Marissa Brightman.  With runners on second and third, Old Westbury was unable to push across the game-tying run as Jessica Colucci struck out and Lauren Isaac lined into a sixth inning ending double play.  

Jennifer Jean collected her ninth multi-hit game of the season, leading the team with a 2-for-3 game at the plate.  Alyssa Clancy singled in the fourth to extend her hit-streak to eight games.  Rebecca Richman (2-3, RBI) paced Farmingdale State with multiple-hits.

Alyssa Clancy (10-7) was dealt Old Westbury's loss, striking out one while surrendering two runs off seven hits and two walks. Taylor Tedeschi (7-2) was victorious for Farmingdale State, striking out three batters while scattering eight hits and one walk, leading to one run. 

ST. JOSEPH'S-BROOKLYN BEARS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: The Panthers are back in action on Sunday (April 15) for a non-conference doubleheader against the visiting St. Joseph's-Brooklyn Bears fom the Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex.  First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. in Old Westbury, New York.
