OLD WESTBURY, NY 
(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) –  The SUNY College at Old Westbury grabbed a 68-55 home opening win against the NYU-Poly Fighting Jays Monday evening in Skyline Conference action from the Clark Athletic Center.  The win improves Old Westbury (7-6) to 3-2 in conference play while NYU-Poly (4-8) fell to 1-3. 

NYU-Poly broke the scoring ice off a Kylie Hall free throw with 19:53 for an early 1-0 lead.  Old Westbury grabbed the lead for good when DeAndra Scott banked in a layup to make it 2-1.  Old Westbury went up by 12 with a 20-7 run from 18:14 to 11:11, to take a 20-8 lead.  NYU-Poly battled back to knot the game at 27-27 with a 19-7 run over the next 6:08 before Old Westbury scored the final six points to hold a 33-27 halftime lead. 

Old Westbury took a 37-27 lead just 41 seconds into the second half as Antoinette Jolly dropped in two of her six points on the evening.  NYU-Poly cut the deficit late in the game when Alyssa D'Apice's layup made it 55-49 with 6:19 showing on the clock.  Old Westbury then went on a 9-0 run to go up 64-59 with 3:19 remaining and held on for a 68-55 win.

DeAndra Scott scored a game high 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the floor to go along with nine rebounds to pace Old Westbury.  Raven Pentz followed with a solid 10 point, 10 assist double-double in addition to three steals.  Raven Price tallied 10 points and two steals off the bench and Antoinette Jolly added three steals. 

Alyssa D'Apice racked up a team high 19 points for NYU-Poly, followed by Tabitha Larsen's 14.  Shelby Bruns and Sabrina Fletcher both grabbed seven rebounds. 

Old Westbury shot 43.9 percent from the field (29-66), 41.7 percent from three point territory (5-12) and 38.5 percent from the free throw line (5-13).  NYU-Poly hit 41.8 percent from the floor (23-55), 55.6 percent from three point range (5-9) and 50 percent from the charity stripe.  Old Westbury owned a 40-27 rebounding advantage, including a 19-9 edge off the offensive glass, which resulted in 10 second chance points.  Old Westbury also scored 31 points off 31 NYU-Poly turnovers.

CCNY BEAVERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the hardwood for a non-conference road battle on Wednesday (Jan. 16) evening, taking on the CCNY Beavers from the Nat Holman Gymnasium.  Tip-off is slated for 5 p.m. in New York, New York
