Box Score
YAPHANK, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College of Old Westbury baseball team fell to the Ithaca Bombers, 7-1, on Friday afternoon from Baseball Heaven in Yaphank, New York. Old Westbury drops to 2-2 on the season, while the Bombers begin their 2013 campaign with a season-opening win.

Ithaca's six-run lead over the first three innings was too much for Old Westbury to overcome.  The scoring started with two outs in the visitors' first turn at-bat. Colby Gee (3-5, HR, 2 RBI) and Vinny Gneo (2-3, HR, 3 RBI) each hit two-run homeruns for a 4-0 Ithaca edge.  Two innings later, Andrew Turner doubled to left center, which brought home Tim LaCastro (2-3 2 R).  Turner went to third on a wild pitch and trotted home on a RBI sacrifice fly by Turner.

Kevin Licul (1-4) accounted for the lone Old Westbury run as he singled to center to bring home Brian Walsh (1-4) in the ninth inning.

Pat Lemmo (1-0) was credited with the win for Ithaca in his complete game, one run, four strikeout outing and starter Tim Walsh (0-2) fanned three and took the Panthers' loss in 4.2 inning pitched, allowing six runs on eight hits.  Reliever Christopher Vitale struck out two in 4.1 innings of work.

Old Westbury returns to Baseball Heaven on Saturday, March 2 when they take on Baruch College at 1:30 p.m
