Old Westbury is back in action Tuesday at United States Merchant Marine Academy

MONTCLAIR, NJ (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's lacrosse team lost a 17-1 decision on the road to the defending Skyline Conference Champions, the Montclair State Red Hawks, on Saturday afternoon from MSU Sprauge Field.  Old Westbury (0-5) now stands at 0-2 in conference play while Montclair State (5-0) improves to 2-0. 

With 13:07 left in the first half, Jordan Schildt netted her first career goal when Anna Noens found her for her first career assist to stop an 11-0 Montclair State run.  The Red Hawks answered with 6:33 left in the half with a Kelly Schoneveld goal to make it a 12-1 game at intermission.  Sara Braverman made five saves in net for Old Westbury during the first half.   

Montclair State added five more goals in the second half on goalie Cristina Kettell, who made three saves in her debut in the cage. 
Old Westbury trailed the shot count, 27-4, as well as the ground ball battle, 23-5, while winning 6-of-20 draw controls.
JoAnna Kettell picked up a team-best two ground balls and Courtney Gallagher fired two shots as her four game scoring streak came to an end.  Anna Noens won four draw controls to tie the program record. 

Tierney Conlon scored four goals and handed out four assists to lead Montclair State.  Kailee Beal scooped up four ground balls and won three draw controls.   Tiffani Henderson allowed one goal in the first half to record the victory while Rebecca Myers and Melissa Farrell saw time in goal throughout the second half. 

UNITED STATES MERCHANT MARINE ACADEMY MARINES UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to action on Tuesday (March 19) for a clash with the United States Merchant Marine Academy Mariners from Brooks Stadium.  Start time is set for 3:30 p.m. in Kings Point, New York.
