JERSEY CITY, NJ (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury baseball team took an 8-6 loss to the New Jersey City Gothic Knights in non-conference action Thursday afternoon from Thomas M. New Jersey City went up 8-3 in the eighth, when Michael Martucci singled off reliever Alex DiSanto to knock in two runs.

The Panthers made things interesting in the ninth by scoring three runs, but NJCU's reliever Kevin DeMauro induced ground outs by Robert Crocitto and Eddie Hernandez for the final outs of the game, halting Old Westbury's rally.  Old Westbury scored on a fielding error, Kevin Licul's RBI single and Peter Romeo's RBI ground out that platted home Jonathan Pagan for the final run of the game.
