OLD WESTBURY, NY
(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) The SUNY College at Old Westbury softball team split a Skyline Conference doubleheader at home against the visiting Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins on Sunday afternoon from the Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex.  The Dolphins claimed a slim 1-0 victory in game one before Old Westbury bounced back with a 7-0 win in the finale.  Old Westbury (6-6) stands at 1-3 in conference play while Mount Saint Vincent (4-8) moved to 1-5.

Game One: Mount Saint Vincent 1, Old Westbury 0
Back-to-back singles were key components to a two out rally that allowed Mount Saint Vincent to break a scoreless tie in the fifth.  Danielle Maffei singled, followed by a base hit by Joann Guerra which allowed Maffei to score off a fielding error by left fielder Jessica Colucci.

Old Westbury threatened in the sixth with three straight singles.  Jessica Spero reached on a fielder's choice, resulting in Jennifer Jean getting thrown out at home plate.  Alex Heaney was then thrown out as the right fielder gunned her out at first with the bases loaded to end the inning.

Nicole Petrucci's three singles and a stolen base led Old Westbury's offense while Jean and Protasiewicz followed with a pair of singles.  Maffei and Guerra both recorded multiple hits to pace Mount Saint Vincent.
Alyssa Clancy (5-6) was dealt Old Westbury's loss after allowing one unearned run on six hits while striking out nine.  Kathleen Davis (1-3) fanned 12 Panthers and scattered eight hits to snag Mount Saint Vincent's win.

Game Two:  Old Westbury 7, Mount Saint Vincent 0
Old Westbury's bats came alive in the fourth inning when Jennifer Jean's double sparked a two out rally.  Corrine Protasiewicz then laced a single to score Jean for the game-winner.  Two batters later, Jessica Spero doubled Old Westbury's advantage with a single that drove in Jessica Colucci.  Old Westbury added one in the fifth and tacked on four more in the sixth.

Alyssa Clancy (6-6) scattered eight hits and struck out five to secure her 26th career shutout.  Kathryn Dalton was struck for seven runs on 11 hits and two walks to fall to 3-5 on the season.

Protasiewicz collected her second multi-hit game of the day to pace Old Westbury while Colucci and Spero added a pair of singles.  Dalton, Joann Guerra and Casey Cuccio each tallied two singles in defeat for Mount Saint Vincent.
