(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury baseball team dropped a 10-3 decision to the #6 Kean Cougars in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon from Jim Hynes Stadium.  Old Westbury slips to 6-9 on the season while Kean improved to 14-4.

Kean scored in each of the opening four innings and jumped out to an early lead when Andy Lopez took Stephen Chapter deep with a two-run homer in the first inning.  Kean jumped ahead by five with three runs in the second as Lopez stroked a two-run triple to drive in the eventual game-winning run.

Old Westbury posted their first run of the game in the fourth inning on a run scoring single off the bat of Jonathan Pagan to score Brian Walsh, making it an 8-1 game.  John Angelino's solo homer in the fifth cut the deficit to six before Kean tacked on two more in the seventh.  In the ninth inning, Pagan's triple closed out the scoring, driving in Michael Parziale for the 10-3 final.

Stephen Chapter (1-2) allowed eight runs (seven earned) on 10 hits and two walks over five innings.  Nick Zucchero (1-0) fanned five in seven innings of mound work to earn his first win of the season, allowing two runs on six hits.
