WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY (
www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) -The SUNY College at Old Westbury baseball team swept their fourth Skyline Conference series of the season with Sunday's 9-6 and 9-4 road victories over the Mount Saint Mary Knights. Old Westbury (18-13-1) now stands at 11-3 in conference play while sending the Knights (13-15) to 5-9.
Game One: Old Westbury 9, Mount Saint Mary 6
Old Westbury broke the scoring ice by scoring three runs without recording a hit in the fourth inning.
Peter Romeo scored
Jonathan Pagan on a fielders choice for the games initial run. Romeo later scored on a passed ball and
Brandon Stein crossed the plate on a throwing error by catcher Chris O'Connor for Old Westbury's second and third runs.
Old Westbury scored four more in the fifth on five hits.
John Angelino and
Kevin Licul hit back-to-back RBI singles and two batters later it was
Brian Walsh who delivered a two-run double to give Old Westbury a 7-0 lead. Pagan's RBI single in the sixth put the Panthers up by eight before Matt Cahill's RBI single in the home half of the inning put Mount Saint Mary on the scoreboard.
Old Westbury tacked on their final run in the seventh with a Stein sacrifice fly that scored Romeo for a 9-1 lead. Mount Saint Mary added two unearned runs in the seventh off reliever
Tyler Levine and three more in the ninth off

Alex DiSanto recorded the final two outs for his eighth save of the season.
Old Westbury starter
Arismendy Nunez (4-4) picked up his fourth win of the season, striking out eight, while giving up one run on five hits and four walks in six innings of mound work. Mount Saint Mary starter Sean Betterly was tapped with the loss, surrendering five runs (no earned) on four hits and two walks in 4.2 innings.
Pagan (2-4, 2 R, RBI, 2 SB), Licul (2-2, RBI, R, BB), Romeo (2-4, 3 R, RBI) and
Eddie Hernandez (2-3, BB, SB) paced Old Westbury with multiple hits in a 12-10 hitting advantage over Mount Saint Mary. Vinnie Carminati (2-4, 2 R, BB) and
Cahill (2-5, RBI) also produced multiple hits for the Knights.
Game Two: Old Westbury 9, Mount Saint Mary 4
Old Westbury once again jumped ahead early with a
Jeremy Delgado sacrifice fly that sent Valerio home in the first. Carminati's RBI single in the home half of the first evened the score at 1-1.
Old Westbury opened the third with three straight singles and it was Pagan's base hit that scored Walsh.
Robert Crocitto then drove in Delgado on a fielders choice and
Steve Mare capped the third inning scoring with an RBI single to push Pagan across home plate.
Carminati struck again in the fifth with an RBI single to slice the deficit in half, 4-2.
Old Westbury answered with a five run sixth to go up 9-2. Walsh's RBI single and Romeo's two-run single keyed the big inning. Mount Saint Mary knocked in two runs in the seventh off reliever

Old Westbury starter
James Roubal improved to 3-0 on the season with a four strikeout performance over six innings of mound work. Roubal allowed two runs on seven hits and three walks.
Old Westbury held a 13-9 hitting edge as Valerio (2-5, 2 R, SB), Walsh (2-5, 2 R, RBI), Pagan (2-3, 2 R, RBI), Romeo (2-3, 2 RBI, SB) and Mare (2-4, RBI, 2 SB) all posted multiple hits.
CCNY BEAVERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the diamond on Tuesday (April 24) at 5 p.m. when they take on the CCNY Beavers in non-conference action at home from the Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex.
