(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) -The SUNY College at Old Westbury baseball team needed 10 innings to earn a 5-4 non-conference victory over the visiting United States Merchant Marine Academy Mariners on Tuesday evening from the Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex.  Old Westbury heads into the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament on May 3 with a record of 23-13-1 on the season.  No. 2 seeded Old Westbury will take on the winner of tomorrow's No. 3 Purchase vs. No. 6 Mount Saint Mary matchup on Friday at 7 p.m. in Farmingdale, New York.  USMMA now stands at 19-14 with the loss.

Jacob Coners (1-5, RBI) laced a single out to right center to score John Angelino (1-4, 2 SB) in the 10th for the game-winning run.  Angelino reached on a single to open the inning.   

Old Westbury scored three runs in the first inning on a two-run double by Brian Walsh and a Kevin Licul RBI single. 

USMMA sliced the deficit to a 3-1 game after Keil Silva hit into a double play to score Nicholas Nalette.

Paul Valerio extended Old Westbury's lead to 4-1 with a sacrifice fly that scored Brian Walsh in the sixth inning. 

USMMA tied the game at 4-4 in the seventh, scoring three runs on six hits to end reliever Christopher Vitale's day.  Silva hit a RBI single and Andrew MacKinnon looped a two-run single out to left field. 

Walsh finished the day with a team best three hits in a 3-for-5 game at the plate, followed by a pair of singles by Stein (2-4, R).  Warren Hartman's three hits paced USMMA at the plate. 

Alex DiSanto (1-0) closed out the 10th inning to record his first win of the season.

Cameron Stadele (5-4) took the loss after working 2.1 innings of relief, striking out three while allowed one unearned run on one hit and two hits.
