Box Score
FARMINGDALE, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) -The SUNY College at Old Westbury baseball team posted a 1-0 victory over the No. 3 Purchase Panthers in the second round of the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament Friday evening from Rams Field in Farmingdale, New York.  Old Westbury (24-13-1) advances into the winner's bracket and will take on the top seeded Farmingdale State Rams on Saturday at 10 a.m. from Rams Field.  Purchase (21-16) now faces No. 5 Maritime Privateers at 1 p.m.
Paul Valerio collected his 100th career hit with a single to lead off the home half of the first.  Valerio advanced two bases on a single by Brian Walsh and a RBI single by John Angelino broke the scoring ice.

Purchase threatened in the sixth, loading the bases on back-to-back singles, a double steal and a walk.  Old Westbury starter Arismendy Nunez induced an infield pop out to escape out of the jam, stranding three on base.

Valerio collected his second single of the game to lead off the sixth.  A sacrifice bunt and an infield groundout advanced Valerio over to third.  Purchase starter Matt Paz (5-5) retired Old Westbury on a John Angelino fly out.

Stephen Chapter took over in relief of Nunez in the eighth, posting a scoreless frame.

In the eighth, Brandon Stein reached on a throwing error by second baseman Michael Sarni.  Steve Mare dropped down a sacrifice bunt to move Stein into scoring position.  Valerio was then hit by the pitch to reach base for the third time and Eddie Hernandez drew a walk to load the bases.  Paz once again escaped out a jam by retiring Old Westbury on infield outs to strand three.

Alex DiSanto entered in the ninth and closed out the game to set a program-record with his 13th save of the season.
