Old Westbury jumped on the board first to take a 1-0 lead in the first inning.  Brian Walsh and John Angelino sparked Old Westbury with back-to-back singles, and a fielding error by third baseman Daniel Paccione allowed Walsh to break the scoring ice.

Old Westbury starter Frank DiMaria registered five strikeouts through three innings, holding Farmingdale State hitless.

Farmingdale State broke into the score column in the home half of the fourth on a run scoring single by Ron Remi (3-4, 3 RBI) to push across Anthony Alvino.  Alvino reached base on a walk and stole second before scoring.

Steve Mare singled and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt to open the fifth inning.  Standing on second base, Mare was thrown out at home trying to extend Old Westbury's lead on a single by Eddie Hernandez.  Farmingdale State reliever Cameron Kitt took over for starter Michael Dolce over to record the final out in the fifth.

DiMaria plunked David Zilnicki to open the sixth and a Terrence Bohonan sacrifice bunt moved Zilnicki into scoring position.  Dalton McCarthy then double down the right field line to give Farmingdale State a 2-1 lead, ending DiMaria's outing.  Stephen Chapter took over and gave up a two-run single to Remi as the Rams took a 4-1 lead at the end of six innings of play.

Matthew Andress was called on in relief of Chapter in the eighth.  Paccione reached on a two base throwing error by shortstop Hernandez.  Pinch runner Mike Marino tagged up on a fly out and scored on a Remi single for a 5-1 Farmingdale State lead.
