Old Westbury returns home for a non-conference matchup with Lehman on Tuesday

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team suffered a 4-1 setback on the road to the Skidmore Thoroughbreds Sunday afternoon in non-conference play from Wachenheim Field.

Old Westbury's second straight loss leaves them at 1-2 on the season while the Thoroughbreds improved to 2-2.

Old Westbury struck early, taking a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute on a deflection off the foot of Adan Cruz-Valasquez for his first career goal.

Brock Bakewell answered with his first of three goals on the day for Skidmore 3:41 into the second half to knot the game at 1-1. Bakewell added the game-winner in the 65th minute to go along with a score in the 78th while Noah Weinberg closed out the scoring in the 90th minute.

Old Westbury keeper Peter Sicardi's 10 saves tied a career-high while his counterpart Eli Kisselbach made two stops in net for Skidmore. The

Thoroughbreds held the advantage in shots (24-7) and corner kicks (9-0).

LEHMAN LIGHTNING UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the pitch for a non-conference battle on Tuesday afternoon, when they host the Lehman Lightning. Kick-off is slated for 4 p.m. from Panther Park.
