@OW_Panthers Women’s Volleyball Tangles With Lehman

Old Westbury returns to action Saturday (Oct. 18) for a Skyline Conference road tri-match in Throggs Neck, New York

OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's volleyball team dropped a three-set non-conference match at home Wednesday evening to the Lehman Lightning from Clark Athletic Center. 

Ruth Vargas paced Old Westbury (1-13) with nine kills and eight assists to go along with seven digs and one ace.  Rayn Brown followed with four kills, five assists and a team-leading eight digs.  Olivia O'Keefe tied a career-high with four aces. 

Cari English nailed down a match-high 13 kills and two blocks to lead Lehman (10-10).  Imani Dubois dished out 17 assists while Lizette Medina scooped up 19 digs.  Lindsay Pantaleon served up three aces and Medina followed with two. 

In the end, Lehman outhit Old Westbury, .070 (24 kills, 19 errors, 71 total attacks) to .038 (19 kills, 16 errors, 80 total attacks) and held a slim 9-8 advantage in aces.  

SKYLINE CONFERENCE TRI-MATCH AT MARITIME UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to action on Saturday (Oct. 18) in a Skyline Conference tri-match in Throggs Neck, New York against the Purchase Panthers (1 p.m.) and Maritime Privateers (3 p.m.) from Riesenberg Gymnasium.
