@OW_Panthers Women’s Volleyball challenges York

Old Westbury returns to Skyline Conference action Thursday (Oct. 23) on the road against Purchase


JAMAICA, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-15) non-conference road decision to the York Cardinals on Tuesday evening in Jamaica, New York. 

Fareeda Rousdhy had three kills and eight digs to lead Old Westbury (1-14), which hit -.196 for the match.  Ruth Vargas added five assists, one ace and a solo block.  Elizabeth Ozuuna, Rayn Brown,and Olivia O'Keefe each served up a pair of aces.

Stayce Kay Muirhead's nailed down kills on 19 swings to lead York (5-21) to a .225 hitting percentage.  Kiranjeet Kaur dished out 20 assists and served up four aces to direct the Cardinal offense, while Allison Li added four aces.

In the end, York served up 12 aces, compared to Old Westbury's seven.

PURCHASE PANTHERS UP NEXT FOR OLD WESTBURY: Old Westbury returns to action on Thursday (Oct. 23) in a Skyline Conference battle against the Purchase Panthers at 7 p.m. in Purchase, New York.
