Gameday Program

OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) -The SUNY College of Old Westbury men's soccer team topped the visiting Purchase Panthers with a 2-0 Skyline Conference final on Senior Day Saturday from Panther Park. With the win, Old Westbury (8-9-0) improved its conference record to 2-5-0 while sending Purchase (7-8-1) to 4-3-1.

Cody Greene broke the scoring ice in the 15th minute with his first-career goal by banging home a penalty kick to put Old Westbury up 1-0.  Both teams were unable to find the back of the net for the remainder of the half as Old Westbury held a one-goal advantage heading into the break and outshot Purchase, 8-7.

The offensive drought was ended in the 87th minute when Dominick Guidice used his head to register his team-leading ninth goal off the season.  Guidice received Anthony Echevarria's free kick to double Old Westbury's advantage, closing out the scoring books with a 2-0 final.

Panther goalie Peter Sicardi (5-4-0) collected his third-career shutout after making three saves to earn Old Westbury's victory.  Esteban Aguilar (5-5-1) made four saves in defeat for Purchase.

In the end, Purchase held the advantage in shots (16-11), while both teams drew even in shots on goal (6-6) and corner kicks (7-7)

Prior to kickoff, seniors Anthony Echevarria (2010, 2014) and Cody Greene (2013-14) were honored for their dedication to Old Westbury Athletics with the annual Senior Day Ceremony.
