OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) -  The SUNY College at Old Westbury softball team dropped a Skyline Conference home doubleheader on Saturday afternoon to the Farmingdale State Rams 6-0 and 9-2. With the losses, the Panthers (5-6) move to 1-5 in conference play while Farmingdale State (11-9) improves to 4-2.

In the opener, Old Westbury struggled to generate offense against pitcher Taylor Webb, who struck out seven batters and limited the hosts to just one hit in seven innings. Farmingdale State began building its lead in the third inning, after Sam Johrden scored from second on a throwing error. Hillary Genova brought in another run via a sacrifice bunt with the next at bat before Marissa Monaco brought her home with an RBI single.

Andrea Klarman added two more runs for the Rams in the fifth inning when her triple down the left side cleared the bases. Lori Michalowski brought Klarman home with a sacrifice hit with the next at bat.

Gabriella Valdes picked up Old Westbrury's lone hit with a bunt single in the fifth inning.

Michalowski got the scoring going in the second game in the first inning with a bases clearing double to put her side up 2-0. The Rams would hold that advantage until the fourth inning, when Dallas Anderson brought in a run with a sacrifice bunt. Meagan Anderson's triple later in the inning brought in three more runs to increase Farmingdale State's lead to six.  Nicole DeCola's single to center field in the bottom of the fourth put two runs on the board for the Panthers and cut the Old Westbury deficit to 6-2.

The score would remain the same until Michalowski's homer opened the seventh inning. Tori Tedeschi would knock in another run off a single, but advanced to second on the throw. Farmingdale State's final tally came by way of an error that brought Joanna Carillo home.

DeCola started in game one for the Panthers, striking out one batter and came in for relief in the second game for starter Emily McKay, who also fanned one batter in five innings. Tedeschi graced the circle in game two for Farmingdale State and struck out three batters for the complete game victory.

DeCola also went 1-for-3 at the plate in the second game, brining in two runs and Jennifer Jean added a 1-for-3 game at the plate.

Michalowski shone for Farmingdale State in game two, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and one homer. Monaco went 4-for-4 in game one and added one RBI.
