PURCHASE, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's basketball team fell to the Manhattanville Valiants 76-60 in a non-conference road matchup on Saturday afternoon from Kennedy Gymnasium.  With the loss, the Panthers moved to 6-5 on the season, while the Valiants improved to 7-4.

Down 2-0 early, Raven Pentz cashed in a layup to tie the game just 26 seconds in.  Both teams would continue to exchange scoring until Manhattanville used a 5-0 run from 15:53 to 14:26 to build an 11-6 lead.  Old Westbury immediately answered back with a 5-0 run of their own, capped off by a Kendra Jordan jumper to knot the game at 11 with 12:40 left in the half.  Ashley Raaf sank a pair of free throws at 8:54 to spark a 9-2 Valiant run, which extended its lead to 10.  Ruth Vargas dropped in consecutive layups to open a 12-4 Panther run, which tied the game at 31-all with 1:57 remaining.  The tie was the sixth of the half.  The Valiants closed out the first-half scoring shooting 2-of-4 from the free-throw line over the final 1:43 to take a 33-31 edge into the break.

The Valiants began the second-half with a 14-2 spurt over the opening 7:20, resulting in a 47-33 lead.  Old Westbury was able to twice cut its deficit under double digits, until Alyson Caiazzo's layup started Manhattanville on a 17-6 run from 7:10 to 2:37 for a game-high 22 point lead.  Old Westbury closed out the game on a 9-3 run over the final 2:37 for a 76-60 decision.

Jasmine Robinson led the Panthers with a team-high 14 points, while also adding three steals and two blocks.   Off the bench, Ruth Vargas provided Old Westbury with 13 points and seven rebounds while Crystal Barnes added a team-high three blocks.

The Valiants scored four players in double-digits, led by Raaf's game-high 18 points (5-9 FG).  Caiazzo chipped in with 16 points (7-14 FG) of her own to go along with 17 rebounds, six assists, three blocks and three steals.
