@OW_Panthers Women’s Volleyball battles Saint Elizabeth at home

Old Westbury travels to Sarah Lawrence on October 17 for a Skyline Conference tri-match

Gameday Program

OLD WESTBURY, NY ---
(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball moved to 4-10 on the season, falling to the visiting Saint Elizabeth Eagles 3-0 (25-13, 26-24, 25-9) on Tuesday evening in non-conference action from Clark Athletic Center.

Old Westbury's Sofia Goris served up one of her two aces on the day to register the match's first point.  Saint Elizabeth (11-9) answered with a 10-0 spurt to take control of the opening set.

The second set was a back-and-forth affair, as Old Westbury refused to be intimidated by the visiting Eagles.  After the Panthers used a 4-0 run to grab a 22-18 lead in the game, Saint Elizabeth closed on an 8-2 run to claim victory.

Old Westbury started hot in the third set, jumping out to a 4-2 advantage before Saint Elizabeth battled to grab the lead.

Rayn Brown contributed five kills to lead the Panthers in that department for the 10th straight game.  Brown also scooped up eight digs while Goris tied a career high with 11.  Brown and Chelsey Hoffman both had a pair of block assists as Brittany Buchanan added one solo block.  Hoffman's eight assists moved the offense.  Olivia O'Keefe chipped in with two aces.

Nicole Morera dished out a match-high 25 assists to pace the Eagles at the same time as Carolina Marte and Christy Marte nailed down nine kills apiece.  Ashley Morera served five of Saint Elizabeth's 13 aces in the game.
