@OW_Panthers Women’s Soccer collides with Farmingdale State in Skyline Conference battle

Old Westbury returns to the field Sunday at Yeshiva for Skyline Conference action

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer fell  4-0 at home Friday afternoon to the eight-time defending Skyline Conference champions Farmingdale State Rams from Panther Park. 

The Rams (7-5-2, 5-1-0) got on the board in the sixth minute, when Melissa Lijo fired a free kick off Old Westbury (7-5-0, 4-2-0 Skyline) goalkeeper Melissa Muller's hand for what proved to be the game-winning goal.  Edania Martinez put Old Westbury in the shot column at 9:57 with a blocked shot.   The Rams held a 10-1 edge in shots at the end of the first half. 

Ashley Thompson doubled the Rams' advantage in the 58th minute after finishing a cross from Amanda Khare to make it a 2-0 game. 

Farmingdale State went up 3-0 on Alyssa Parrotta's goal in the 65th minute.  Alexis Caracappa completed the scoring in the 90th minute.

Melissa Outsen placed a shot just wide of Farmingdale State goalie Karla Gomes (3-0-1) in the 56th minute as the Rams totaled 30 shots to Old Westbury's two.   

Muller (6-5-0) collected eight saves on the day.    

YESHIVA MACCABEES UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury travels Sunday (Oct. 18) to take on the Yeshiva Maccabees in Skyline Conference action at 9:30 a.m. from Aviator Field in Brooklyn.
