OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer received scoring from eight different Panthers to put together a 14-0 shutout win Monday over the visiting York Cardinals (3-6-0) in non-conference action from Panther Park. The Panthers used nine first-half goals and five in the second to topple the Cardinals.

Old Westbury's first goal came at 9:01 when Christine Fernandez found Floriselda Zuniga for the game winner. Melissa Outsen then finished a pass from Jessica Tuckruskye to double the Panthers' advantage 58 seconds later. Outsen followed with a breakaway goal in the 12th minute to collect her team-leading eighth score of the season. Tosin Akinfeleye put the game out of reach with three-straight goals in the 19th, 24th and 26th minutes for a 6-0 lead. Dana Yool scored in the 28th minute and Edania Martinez found the back of the net at 32:49 to build the lead to eight. The first-half scoring ended off an own goal for Old Westbury's 9-0 lead at the break.

The second-half proved to be even more fruitful as the Panthers scored five of their goals in a 14-minute span. The first goal came in the 52nd minute as Zuniga headed home Martinez's pass. Following Michelle Ventimiglia's fourth goal of the season at 53:23, Yool slotted a pass to help Zuniga collect the hat trick in the 56th minute. Sara Bey sent goal-scoring passes to Alyssa Quick in the 59th minute and Fernandez in the 66th minute to close out the scoring books.

Old Westbury's defense held York without a shot as Melissa Muller (5-3-0) collected her second-career shutout. Sarah Hilaire (2-6-0) stopped 20 shots in defeat for York.

In the end, Old Westbury held the advantage in shots (52-0), shots on goal (34-0) and corner kicks (3-0).

MARITIME PRIVATEERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to Skyline Conference play on Wednesday (Oct. 7) on the road against the Maritime Privateers at 7 p.m. from Reinhart Field in Throggs Neck, New York.
