YAPHANK, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - SUNY Old Westbury baseball swept past the Lehman Lightning with 18-3 and 15-7 victories Tuesday from Baseball Heaven in Yaphank, New York.  With the wins, Old Westbury improves to 3-2 on the season while sending the Lightning to 0-4.

Game One: Old Westbury 18, Lehman 3
Panther starter Nick Dorcean registered five strikeouts through three innings to shut down the Lightning early on.  Old Westbury's offense supplied Dorcean with plenty of support, highlighted by a two-out rally which included 15 runs on nine hits and three errors in the second inning.  Old Westbury clubbed a trio of three home runs in the frame as Nick Yip went deep twice and Michael Cardino once.

Dorcean (1-0) took a no hitter into the fifth inning and earned the win by allowing just three runs on three hits while firing a career-best nine strikeouts.  In relief, Christopher Vitale tossed two strikeouts in a perfect seventh inning to close out the game.

Yip finished the opener 2-for-3 at the plate, scoring two runs and tying a career-high with six RBI.  Cardino registered a career-best three hits to go along with two runs scored and four RBI.  Eddie Hernandez record his third multi-hit game of the season with a 2-for-4 showing at the plate, including two runs scored, one RBI and a stolen base.  Tommy Ziegen (1-2, 2 runs, RBI) and Jonathan Pagan (1-3, R, 2 SB) each tripled.

Socrates Arevalo (1-2) crushed a solo home run in the fifth inning to record Lehman's first hit.  Jhon Comas (1-3) and Christopher Lopez (1-3) also contributed homers to Lehman's lineup.

Wilfredo Gonzalez (0-1) surrendered eight runs on five hits and three walks in 1.2 innings of work in defeat for Lehman.

Game Two: Old Westbury 15, Lehman 7
Old Westbury again used a two-out rally to grab hold of an early lead.  Christian Faust broke the scoring ice in the opening frame with a two-run single.  Robert Crocitto and Matthew Taurisani followed with back-to-back run scoring singles for a 4-0 lead at the end of one inning.  Old Westbury secured the victory with Taurisani's run-scoring single to plate home Faust for what proved to be the game-winning run in the second inning.  The Panthers then took a 12-3 lead off the power of Carlos Balmaceda's three-run homer as part of a four-run fourth inning.

Taurisani led the offensive attack with a 4-for-4 showing at the plate to go with two runs scored and two RBI.  Ziegen tied a career-high with three hits and finished with an RBI triple, two runs scored and two stolen bases.  Balmaceda (2-4, 3 RBI, 2 runs), Crocitto (2-4, 2 RBI, 2 runs) and Faust (2-4, 3 RBI, 2 runs) each produced multi-hit games while Pagan scored three runs and swept two bases.

Nick Schoen (1-1) tossed 2.2 innings in relief of starter Kevin Specht to snag Old Westbury's win.  Vinny Bienek tossed a scoreless seventh to secure Old Westbury's third victory of the season.

Danny Rodriguez's 2-for-4 game at the plate paced Lehman's offense.  Ja'von Collins (0-1) took the loss, surrendering 10 runs on nine hits and two walks in three innings.
