Bey scores two for @OW_Panthers Women’s Lacrosse at Richard Stockton

Sara Bey tallied her 11th career multi-goal game


POMONA, NJ (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse held a 4-2 second-half scoring advantage despite falling 14-4 Tuesday evening to the Richard Stockton Ospreys in non-conference road action from Stockton Turf Field in Pomona, New Jersey.  With the loss, Old Westbury moves to 1-2 on the season while the Ospreys advanced to 5-0.

Richard Stockton's Kim Raichelson scored within the game's opening 12 seconds to set the tone early for the hosts.  Raichelson's goal sparked a 4-0 run through 1:10 of play.  The Ospreys tacked on eight more first-half goals to take a 12-0 lead into the break.

Sara Bey opened the second-half scoring books 19 seconds into play with Old Westbury's first goal of the day.  Richard Stockton added scores at 23:26 and 19:58 to go up 14-1.  Danielle Weir and Courtney Gallagher each answered at 18:18 and 3:09, respectively, to extend their season scoring streaks to three games.  Bey closed out the scoring at 1:23 to record her 11th career multi-goal game. 

Bey added four draw controls to her line while Gallagher and Ashley Gugliuzzo each scooped up four ground balls.  Gugliuzzo (1-2) also made a career-high nine saves. 

Brianna Rolke and Lauren Ivancich each scored three goals to pace Richard Stockton.  Mary Stones (5-0) made three first-half saves to earn the Ospreys win. 

In the end, Richard Stockton held the advantage in shots (26-8), shots on goal (23-7), draw controls (12-8) and ground balls (18-15) 


DREW RANGERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to action on Thursday (Mar. 19) on the road when they travel to take on the Drew Rangers at 7 p.m. from Ranger Stadium in Madison, New Jersey.
