OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse fell 15-4 in non-conference action Thursday afternoon from Panther Park versus the visiting Kean Cougars.  The loss moves Old Westbury to 2-9 on the season while the Cougars advanced to 5-8.

Jordan Blanda broke the scoring ice with back-to-back goals as part of a 4-0 Cougar run to open play.  Courtney Gallagher answered for the Panthers with her team-leading 20th goal of the season at the 25 minute mark.  Samantha Gnapp's goal with 19:34 remaining put the Cougars ahead, 5-1, for what proved to be the game-winner.  Gnapp then scored at the 18:12 mark during the Cougars' 5-0 run.  Danielle Weir put home her 16th goal of the season for the Panthers to make it a 9-2 game.  Gnapp and Meghan Schneck each registered goals to give Kean an 11-2 lead at the half.

Emily Powell opened the second-half scoring with her 17th goal of the season.  Gallagher increased her single-season program assist record to 10 helpers off Powell's goal.  Kean put away four more goals before Gallagher closed out the scoring with 4:03 left for the 15-4 decision.

Ashley Gugliuzzo (2-9) made five saves for the Panthers while Nikki Apostolopoulos (5-8) stopped eight shots in the opening half to claim Kean's win.

Weir paced Old Westbury with four ground balls, three caused turnovers and two draw controls.  Gallagher and Sara Bey also added two draw controls.  Blanda finished with a game-high eight draw controls.

In the end, Kean held the advantage in shots (23-17), shots on goal (20-15), ground balls (19-18) and draw controls (13-8).  Old Westbury pressured the Cougars into 23 turnovers, compared to 19 miscues for the Panthers.
