@OW_Panthers Men’s Soccer battles Yeshiva in Skyline Conference opener

Dominick Guidice scored in the 35th minute to record his fourth goal of the season

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer fell 2-1 at home Friday afternoon to the Yeshiva Maccabees in a Skyline Conference showdown from Panther Park. 

Dominick Guidice broke the scoring ice for the Panthers (0-6-0, 0-1-0 Skyline) in the 35th minute after receiving a feed from Adilson Reyes for his fourth goal of the season.  Guidice's goal sent Old Westbury into the break with a 1-0 lead.  

Yeshiva's (3-3-0, 2-0-0 Skyline) Ben David Itamar recovered a loose ball in the box and headed home the equalizer at 56:12 to make it a 1-1 game.  The Maccabees took the lead in the 83rd minute when Daniel Amar sent a penalty kick past Peter Sicardi for the game-winning goal. 

Sicardi (0-6-0) finished with six saves on the day while Maor Feinstein (3-2-0) collected seven for Yeshiva.  

In the end, Yeshiva edged Old Westbury in shots, 14-13, and held the advantage in corner kicks, 9-3.

RAMAPO ROADRUNNERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury hits the road Wednesday (Sept. 23) afternoon to take on the Ramapo Roadrunners at 3:30 p.m. in non-conference action from Athletic Center Turf in Mahwah, New Jersey.
