STATEN ISLAND, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) The SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer team (1-1-0) seemed to control possession from the first whistle Saturday afternoon, scoring two goals in the first half en route to a 5-0 non-conference win over the CCNY Beavers (0-2-0) at the College of Staten Island Fall Classic.

Goals from Edania Martinez (29:46), Melissa Outsen (36:51), Dana Yool (46:18), Mayra Bonilla (57:43) and Michelle Ventimiglia (58:40) gave a glimpse of what the offense might evolve into this season as the Panthers recorded 43 shots in the contest, controlling possession from the get-go. Old Westbury also had a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Both Martinez and Outsen not only combined to record Old Westbury's first-two goals, but also assisted on the team's fourth and fifth scores.

Old Westbury's defense also provided a good showing, limiting the Beavers to four shots, two being on target. Mary Clark made her Panther debut in net by stopping two shots to earn the shutout. Zoe-Elena Rosenbloom recorded 17 saves in defeat for CCNY.

STATEN ISLAND DOLPHINS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury remains in Staten Island on Sunday (Sept. 6) to take on the host Dolphins on day two of the CSI Fall Classic at 12 p.m. from CSI Soccer Complex.
