OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) On a night where SUNY Old Westbury men's basketball and the St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) Bears combined for 22 lead changes, the Panthers prevailed with a 69-66 Skyline Conference home win Tuesday evening inside Clark Athletic Center. With the win, Old Westbury (8-6) improved to 7-2 in conference play while the Bears (7-7) dropped to 5-6.

Trailing 10-8 with 14:57 showing on the first-half clock, Jamail Stanley's tip-in sparked an 11-2 Panther run to take a 19-12 lead. The Bears answered with an 11-2 run of their own to pull in front, 23-21. Both teams played evenly over the remaining 8:13 to head into intermission tied at 34.

Old Westbury grabbed its largest lead of the game (nine points) off a 12-1 run from 11:57 to 7:18 to go up 60-51. Stanley's jumper later made it a seven-point game (67-60) with 2:51 left. Matt O'Neill then capped a 6-0 Bear run with a layup before Kaleem Edwards scored his lone points of the game off a tip-in with 26 seconds remaining to close out the scoring. Stanley blocked Nolan Parr's three-point attempt with two seconds left to secure the win.

Stanley finished with a career-high 31 points (13-of-18 FG) while adding four blocks, four rebounds, three assists and two steals to his statline. Lylle Ryals contributed 13 points off the bench to the victory. Luckens Victor registered eight points, eight rebounds and three blocks.

Alec Willis' 17 points paced the Bears. O'Neill followed with 16 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.

Old Westbury shot 44.4 percent (28-of-63) from the field, 23.8 percent (5-of-21) from the free-throw line and 61.5 percent (8-of-13) from the free-throw line. By comparison, the Bears hit 39.1 percent (25-of-64) from the field, 33.3 percent (10-of-30) from beyond the arc and 75 percent (6-of-8) from the charity stripe. St. Joseph's won the boards battle, 39-38, while Old Westbury scored 12 second-chance points off 15 offensive rebounds. Old Westbury held the advantage in steals (6-5), blocks (8-0), points in the paint (42-14), points off turnovers (16-14) and bench points (13-6)
