OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer collected a 4-1 Skyline Conference Senior Day victory over the visiting Purchase College Panthers (0-9-1, 0-4-1) Saturday afternoon from Panther Park.

Prior to opening kickoff, seniors Ryan Finnin (2012-13, 15-16), Alexander Hilton (2016), Jon Kerby (2012-13, 15-16), Jorge Rodriguez (2013-16), Oscar Sosa (2014-16), and Adan Velasquez (2013-14, 16) were honored with Old Westbury's annual Senior Day Ceremony for their dedication to SUNY Old Westbury Athletics.

Old Westbury (4-3-4, 2-1-1) answered early and often as Sosa connected with Dominick Guidice from deep to give the hosts a 1-0 lead at 17:14. Exactly one minute later, Kerby found Velasquez on a one-touch pass to double Old Westbury's advantage. With 31 seconds remaining in the period, Old Westbury's defense was charged with a hand ball, which led to a converted penalty kick by Anthony Iurillo to slice the deficit in half.

Velasquez banged home his second goal of the game to get the second-half scoring going in the 57th minute off a feed from Guidice. Velasquez then assisted on Old Westbury's fourth goal as Rodriguez settled the 4-1 final in the 85th minute.

In the end, Old Westbury held the advantage in shots (27-13) and shots on goal (11-5), while both teams each registered a pair of corner kicks.

Mike Warren (4-3-4) made four saves to secure Old Westbury's win as Thomas Ogrodnik (0-7-1) stopped seven shots in defeat for Purchase.

COLLEGE OF MOUNT SAINT VINCENT DOLPHINS UP NEXT FOR OLD WESTBURY: Old Westbury returns to action Tuesday (Oct. 4) at home with a Skyline Conference showdown against the College of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins at 4 p.m. inside Panther Park.
