BRONXVILLE, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball competed Saturday afternoon at the Sarah Lawrence College tri-match against the host Gryphons and the College of Staten Island Dolphins from Campbell Sports Center in Bronxville, New York.  Old Westbury lost in straight sets by a 3-0 scoreline to Staten Island (25-22, 25-4, 25-21) and Sarah Lawrence (25-22, 25-21, 25-14).

In the opener against Staten Island, Ruth Vargas paced the Panthers with seven kills, nine digs and two block assists.  Sofia Goris totaled eight digs and moved the offense with nine assists and two kills.  Nikia Gardon served three aces and Marie McKenzie had two.  McKenzie also had three (match-high) of Old Westbury's 11 blocks.  Amanda Neenan scooped a team-best 11 digs. 

Skenderjie Mila nailed down a match-high 14 kills while Jessica Cafiero dished out 19 assists to lead Staten Island.  Victoria Wong added 17 digs while Wong and Siobhan Granich both went for 10.  Granich served five of the Dolphins' 14 aces.     

Against Sarah Lawrence, Goris captained the offense with 10 assists, three kills and two aces in addition to six digs.  Vargas added three aces, three block assists and six digs while McKenzie tallied four kills, two block assists and nine digs.  Neenan contributed three kills and seven digs.  Gardon served two of Old Westbury's eight aces and Olivia O'Keefe scooped eight digs.       

Cat Ramey racked up 10 kills as CJ Kelley handed out 24 assists to lead Sarah Lawrence.  Kelley also served four of the Gryphons' 12 aces to go with 10 digs.  Kayla Zaffrullah totaled 12 digs while Lauren Kilroy followed with 11. 

COLLEGE OF STATEN ISLAND DOLPHINS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns home Thursday (Oct. 6) for a non-conference matchup with the College of Staten Island Dolphins at 6 p.m. inside Clark Athletic Center.
