@OW_Panthers Women’s Volleyball stretched to fifth set with Lehman

Old Westbury closes out its non-conference schedule Wednesday (Oct. 19) on the road against York

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball rallied to force a fifth set Monday evening before eventually dropping a heartbreaking 3-2 (25-17, 25-20, 21-25, 23-25, 15-11) non-conference decision to the visiting Lehman College Lightning inside Clark Athletic Center. 

Sofia Goris totaled 11 assists in addition to three aces and two kills to pace the Panther offense.  Shanayia Lloyd and Nikia Gardon both nailed down four kills, while Marie McKenzie and Olivia O'Keefe followed with three apiece.  Amanda Neenan served a team-best five aces as Lloyd and Diana Amaya added two.  O'Keefe scooped a career-high 18 digs while Neenan registered 12 to set a personal record of her own.  McKenzie recorded five blocks, while Gardon and Lloyd chipped in with three. 

Caitlin Vernon led Lehman with 15 kills as Samantha Delgado's 39 assists moved the Lightning offense.  Lindsay Pantaleon and Salveira Gonzalez both had 14 kills, while Pantaleon served 13 of the team's 28 aces.  Yaidee Nieves contributed a match-high 20 digs. 

YORK COLLEGE CARDINALS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury closes out its non-conference schedule Wednesday (Oct. 19) on the road at 7 p.m. against the York College Cardinals from York College Gymnasium in Jamaica, New York.
