@OW_Panthers Women’s Soccer closes out road schedule at Mount Saint Mary

Old Westbury is set to host Maritime on Oct. 25 for a Skyline Conference Breast Cancer Awareness game

NEWBURGH, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer fell 7-1 Saturday afternoon to the Mount Saint Mary College Knights (7-8-0, 6-2-0 Skyline) in Skyline Conference road action from Kaplan Field.

Bridget McKeever broke the scoring ice 14:48 in and then doubled Mount Saint Mary's advantage 38 seconds later with her second of three goals on the day past Old Westbury (5-9-1, 2-6-0 Skyline) goalie Sara Bey.  Following a Destiny Ribadeneyra goal in the 29th minute, McKeever registered the hat trick in the 33rd minute to give the Knights a 4-0 lead.  Jackie Davis added to the lead in the 36th minute before Edania Martinez converted a penalty kick in the 39th minute to score her fifth goal of the season for Old Westbury to send a 5-1 game into intermission.

Maeve O'Sullivan put goals in the 48th and 65th minutes past Bey to settle the 7-1 final. 

Bey (0-1-0) made five saves prior to Tuckruskye stopping three shots late in the second half for Old Westbury. Mary Riley (7-8-0) and Molly Jensen combined to make two saves to preserve the Knights' win. 

In the end, Mount Saint Mary held the edge in shots (23-5), shots on goal (16-3) and corner kicks (3-1).

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS GAME VERSUS SUNY MARITIME PRIVATEERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS:  Old Westbury closes out its 2016 season at home on Tuesday (Oct. 25) by hosting the SUNY Maritime Privateers at 3 p.m. in a Skyline Conference Breast Cancer Awareness game inside Panther Park.
