@OW_Panthers Women’s Volleyball too much for Yeshiva in 3-0 sweep

Old Westbury clicked on all cylinders in Thursday’s Skyline Conference road victory

MANHATTAN --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball collected a 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-20) Skyline Conference road win Thursday evening from the Yeshiva University Maccabees (0-16, 0-9 Skyline) inside ARC Arena in Manhattan. 

The Panthers (4-19, 2-7 Skyline) compiled season highs with a .225 attacking clip, 28 kills and 24 assists. 

Sofia Goris led the way for the Panthers with a career-best 17 assists and five kills (.625 attacking percentage) to go with eight aces (season high) and eight digs.  Marie McKenzie posted a career-high six kills and five aces in addition to registering three blocks and eight digs.  Olivia O'Keefe tied a career high with eight kills on 13 swings while scooping nine digs.  Shanayia Lloyd chipped in with a career-high four blocks while Nikia Gardon added two of the team's 17 aces. 

Gavriela Colton recorded a match-high 14 kills as Yael Ghelman's nine assists captained the Maccabees' offense.  Sarah Rowan served four of Yeshiva's 10 aces.    
 
SUNY MARITIME PRIVATEERS AND ST. JOSEPH'S COLLEGE (BROOKLYN) BEARS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury closes out the 2016 season on the road Sunday (Oct. 30) with a Skyline Conference tri-match in Throggs Neck, New York.  The Panthers open with the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Bears at 1 p.m. followed by the host SUNY Maritime Privateers at 3 p.m. inside Riesenberg Gymnasium.
