OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's basketball collected a convincing 82-70 wire-to-wire non-conference home win over the York College Cardinals (0-8) Saturday afternoon inside Clark Athletic Center.

Jamail Stanley scored seven-straight points to give Old Westbury (2-5) a 7-3 lead 1:26 in as the Panthers never looked back. Stephon Odle then added to the lead with a trio of 3-pointers to extend Old Westbury's lead to nine (18-9) with 15 minutes remaining in the opening half. Moments later, Stanley's layup gave Old Westbury a 16-point cushion (27-11) with 11:32 left. York trimmed its deficit to five (34-29) by using a 9-0 run to head into the half down 39-32.

Old Westbury maintained a double-digit lead for the final 6:15 as Stanley's layup sparked the Panthers' 16-7 run to extend the advantage to a game-high 17 points with 2:39 remaining.

Stanley led the way with a game-high 30 points (12-of-14 FG, 2-of-2 3FG) and 17 rebounds to register his fifth-straight double-double (18th in 31 games at Old Westbury). He also added three blocks and two steals in 24 minutes of action. Odle made a personal-best five 3-pointers to pour in a career-high 21 points (8-of-14 FG, 5-of-8 3FG). Lylle Ryals added 13 points, two blocks and two steals. Bradley Eugene pulled down 11 boards as Stanley Baker chipped in with eight.

Larry Moore paced York with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Ryan St. John and Ryan Smart followed with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

In the end, Old Westbury connected on 44.1 percent (30-of-68) from the field, 36.7 percent (11-of-30) from three-point range and 47.8 percent (11-of-23) from the free-throw line. By comparison, York hit on 38.8 percent (26-of-67) from the floor, 54.5 percent (6-of-11) from beyond the arc and 66.7 percent (12-of-18) from the charity stripe. Old Westbury won the boards battle, 50-43, while scoring 23 second-chance points off 17 offensive rebounds. Old Westbury also held the advantage in blocks (7-1) and scored 24 points off 20 Cardinal turnovers.

SUNY CANTON KANGAROOS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury remains at home next Saturday (Dec. 17) for a non-conference showdown with the SUNY Canton Kangaroos at 12 p.m. inside Clark Athletic Center.
