OLD WESTBURY, NY ---
(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's basketball pulled out a 56-54 Skyline Conference home win over the Farmingdale State Rams Wednesday night off a game-winning three pointer as time expired inside Clark Athletic Center.  The win improved Old Westbury (20-4) to 13-4 in conference standings as the Rams (9-15) fell to 8-7.  With the 20th win on the campaign, 13th year head coach Michael Krasnoff tied his career high for single-season wins that was previously set during 2010-11.

Playing from behind the entire game, Monique Joseph sank a pair of free throws to tie the game at 50 for Old Westbury with 5:40 remaining in the fourth period.  Both teams went cold and combined to miss 20 consecutive field goals from 6:32 to 1:22.  With 2:12 left, Joseph landed a free throw to put Old Westbury ahead for the first time all night to make it a 51-50 game.  Following Tyra Harrison's jumper at 1:22 that gave Farmingdale State a 52-51 advantage, Joseph dropped in a layup with 53 seconds left for a 53-52 lead.  Charnae Jenkins then responded with a jumper for the Rams' 54-53 position with 17 seconds showing on the clock.  Old Westbury misfired on a pair of opportunities to take the lead, and earned a third opportunity with one second left following a pair of missed free throws by Farmingdale State's Chelsea May.  Raven Pentz found Jasmine Robinson off the inbound for the leaning three pointer that beat the buzzer as the home crowd stormed the court.

Farmingdale State opened the game with Jenkins' three pointer six seconds into play for the early lead.  Clinging to a one-point lead, the Rams used an 8-3 run to take a 13-7 lead with 33 seconds remaining before Robinson banked in a layup to make it a 13-9 game heading into the second quarter.

The Rams took a 19-11 lead off Harrison's three-point play at 7:35.  Pentz connected on a three pointer with 2:09 left to trim Old Westbury's deficit to four points (26-22).  Farmingdale State outscored the Panthers 9-4 over the final 1:51 to extend the lead to nine points (35-26) at the break.

Trailing by as many as 11 points (39-28) in the third period, Old Westbury clawed its way back to pull within three points (43-40) off Tori Bellings' layup with 27 seconds remaining.

Robinson led the Panthers with 14 points and two steals while Ruth Vargas added 13 points, seven rebounds and two blocks off the bench.  Bellings registered 10 points (5-of-10 FG) and nine rebounds as Joseph totaled a career-high 14 rebounds.

Harrison paced the Rams with a game-high 17 points as Jenkins chipped in with 15 in defeat.

Old Westbury hit on 26.3 percent (21-of-80) from the field, 16.7 percent (3-of-18) from three-point range and 57.9 percent (11-of-19) from the free-throw line.  By comparison, Farmingdale State shot 31.5 percent (23-of-73) from the floor, 28 percent (7-of-25) from beyond the arc and 20 percent (1-of-5) from the stripe.  Old Westbury won the boards battles, 61-53, scoring 18 second-chance points off 28 offensive rebounds.  The Panthers also held the edge in assists (12-11), points in the paint (30-22) and fast-break points (11-10) while converting 21 Ram turnovers into 16 points.

SAGE GATORS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury remains at home for Saturday's (Feb. 20) regular-season finale with a Skyline Conference Senior Day matchup against the Sage Gators at 3 p.m. inside Clark Athletic Center.  With the regular season championship on the line, Old Westbury will look to split the series after falling 55-34 (Box Score) at Sage on January 7.  Prior to tip-off, seniors Crystal Barnes, Olivia Ilardi, Kendra Jordan, Antoinette Metoyer and Raven Pentz will be honored with the annual senior day ceremony for their dedication to the program.
