The Panthers received a boost from starting pitcher Jeremy Charles, who fanned nine batters while allowing one unearned run on three hits and one walk in six innings of work.Ā

Stevens broke the scoring ice in the first with an unearned run off Charles.Ā  Jonathan Toro reached on a fielding error by third baseman Joey Walsh (1-for-2, 2 BB, SB) and scored two batters later off Jayson Yano's (2-for-3, RBI, R) sacrifice fly.

Dean Sheridan singled to advance Kevin Lao (0-of-3, 2 BB, R) across home plate to increase Old Westbury's lead in the fifth inning to make it a 3-1 game.

Stevens trailed entering the bottom of the eighth before reliever Daniel Aguilo (0-1) surrendered a 3-run homer to Michael Mule' to plate the go ahead run.Ā  Two batters later, Zeph Walters drove a ground-rule double off Danny D'Onofrio to score Jayson Yano for Stevens' fifth run.Ā  Ā
