OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's basketball used a key second-half run to push past the Sage Gators (16-9, 14-6 Skyline) to capture Saturday's 82-77 Skyline Conference Senior Day victory inside Clark Athletic Center. With the regular-season finale win, Old Westbury (17-8, 16-4 Skyline) garnered the top seed in the upcoming Skyline Conference Championship and will play host to Thursday's semifinal round versus the winner of No. 5 Purchase/No. 4 Yeshiva.

Prior to the start the game, seniors Kaleem Edwards, Keith Lackerson and P.J. Page were honored with Old Westbury's annual Senior Day Ceremony for their dedication to SUNY Old Westbury Athletics.

In what was an evenly played opening half, Lylle Ryals connected on a 3-pointer at 7:46 to spark a 9-0 Panther run to take their first lead of the game, 27-24. Moments later, Sage's Travis Gill sank a pair of free throws to knot the game at 29 with 4:26 remaining. Sage then went up by four (34-30) before Jamail Stanley and P.J. Page answered with field goals for Old Westbury to send a 34-34 game into the half.

Stephon Odle's layup at 16:50 sparked an 11-0 Old Westbury run to extend the lead to a game-high 13 points (59-46). Brett Ullman's 3-pointer at 7:41 kick-started a 17-6 Sage spurt to pull within two points (73-71). The Gators were unable to push past the two-point deficit as the Panthers outscored Sage 9-6 over the remaining 2:36 to secure the win.

Stanley finished with game highs of 28 points (11-of-17 FG), 15 rebounds, four steals and four blocks to record his 12th double-double of the season. Odle tied a career high with 17 points (4-of-6 3FG) while Page followed with 14 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Andre Robinson poured in 23 points (10-of-19 FG) to lead Sage while Gill and Marcus Patterson scored 14 and 12 points, respectively.

In the end, Old Westbury shot 50 percent (30-of-60) from the field, 40 percent (8-of-20) from three-point range and 63.6 percent (14-of-22) from the free-throw line. By comparison, Sage hit on 47.5 percent (29-of-61) from the floor, 44 percent (11-of-25) from beyond the arc and 80 percent (8-of-10) from the stripe. Sage won the boards battle, 35-32, while the Panthers scored 18 second-chance points off 13 offensive rebounds. Old Westbury held the advantage in steals (9-7), blocks (5-0), points in the paint (44-20) and fast-break points while converting 23 Sage turnovers into 13 points.
